Pourquoi lancer un blog sur Pilates la méthode française ?

Bonjour, je m’appelle Sarah portiche. J’ai ouvert en cette fin de mois d’avril 2024 un blog consacré à la méthode Pilates. Il s’adresse à tous les Français et Francophones qui s’intéressent à la discipline :  enseignants de la méthode, personnes en cours de formation pour devenir professeur de Pilates, pratiquants avertis, débutants, mais aussi à tous les curieux. Dans cet article vous trouverez tous les thèmes que je compte aborder au fil du temps sur la méthode Pilates, dans toutes les dimensions que ce sujet pourra m’inspirer, mais avant tout sur la façon de bien le pratiquer.

Mon parcours Pilates

Pratiquant le Pilates depuis 2003, l’enseignant depuis 2007, ayant donné 12000 heures de cours de Pilates entre 2007 et 2022, j’ai envie maintenant de partager mon expérience et d’en faire profiter toute la communauté Pilates :  enseignants de la méthode, personnes en cours de formation pour devenir professeur de Pilates, pratiquants avertis ou débutants, ou même simples curieux. J’ai aussi publié fin 2022 une encyclopédie de la méthode Pilates de 1500 pages (hors illustrations), en quatre volumes, comprenant 1000 exercices et 1000 vidéos (1). Vous en voyez les couvertures derrière moi. Mais il y a plein de choses qu’on ne dit pas dans une méthode, pleins de détails utiles, plein de trucs et astuces, plein de conseils, plein d’anecdotes ou de petites histoires qu’il serait dommage de garder pour soi.

Les sujets que j’aborderai pour compléter mon ouvrage “Pilates la méthode française”

Je ne vais pas traiter tous les sujets en ordre précis ou rationnel, sauf au départ pour les essentiels du Pilates que sont les principes fondamentaux. Ensuite, plutôt en vrac, au gré de mon inspiration, de mes expériences quotidiennes de cours, de l’actualité ou de questions qui pourront se présenter. Les thèmes abordés, sous forme d’articles plus ou moins fournis et même de pastilles, pourront être par exemple :

  • Tout ce qui peut augmenter le confort des pratiquants, plus important qu’on pourrait le croire, et je m’en expliquerai. Cela va des coussins et anti-dérapants classiques, à toutes sortes d’ajouts improvisés ou fabriqués améliorant nettement la bonne exécution des exercices
  • Les marqueurs du « vrai » Pilates, bien que cette appellation soit un peu galvaudée. Les pratiquants ont besoin de s’y retrouver car la popularité du Pilates en a multiplié des supposées variantes. J’évoquerai à ce propos quelques Pirates du Pilates. En outre, les fondamentaux de la méthode ont évolué depuis les années 30 et toutes les pratiques n’en tiennent pas compte.
  • Des descriptions/comparaisons du matériel Pilates et des accessoires. J’ai testé les deux grandes marques existant sur le maché français depuis les années 2000, Peak Pilates et Balanced Body, et une plus récemment arrivée, Align Pilates.
  • Des portraits des pratiquants, rien de nouveau dans l’enseignement en général, mais amusant et permettant d’ajuster sa pratique.
  • A propos des exercices, toutes sortes de précisions : des modifications d’exercices, des substitutions d’exercices, des compléments ou corrections à ma méthode, des précisions supplémentaires aux consignes habituelles, des aides manuelles, des transversalités entre le travail au sol et sur les différentes machines, le type d’effort, le nombre de répétitions, les dangers rencontrés…
  • Les apports Pilates en matière de renforcements particuliers de zones du corps auxquels on ne pense pas et qui sont pourtant essentiels. Joseph Pilates y a pensé.
  • Les adaptations nécessaires face aux petits « empêchements » des pratiquants.
  • Le travail et le rôle du coach Pilates.
  • Des questions touchant à la gestion d’un studio Pilates. Que faire en voyage, et que faire chez soi ?
